What you should know before deciding
Is this a job?
No. Primerica representatives are independent contractors, not employees. You own your time and your business.
How much does it cost to start?
There is a one-time $99 fee when you complete the Independent Business Application (IBA), for training and licensing. There are also personal expenses to operate (for example, the state exam or the optional Primerica Online subscription). You never buy inventory.
How much can I earn?
Earnings vary and are not guaranteed. They depend on your effort, the licenses you obtain and the qualifying sales and referrals you make. Primerica publishes the average compensation of its life-licensed sales force every year in its Important Disclosures; review it before deciding.
Do I need experience or a license?
No experience needed. A state life insurance license is required to sell those products, and we prepare you to earn it. Securities require additional licenses.
Can I do it part-time?
Yes. Most people start part-time while keeping their job and decide later whether to go full-time.
